A simple resume format follows five sections, top to bottom:
- Header: name, phone, email, city, LinkedIn
- Summary: two to four sentences
- Experience: most recent job first, three to five bullets each
- Education
- Skills
Add certifications, projects, or languages only if they help. That's it. See resume sections order for when to move education up.
Simple Resume Examples
Simple summary: Retail supervisor with 4 years of experience leading teams of 8 in a high-volume apparel store. Grew store UPT 15% and trained 12 new hires.
Simple experience bullets:
- Opened and closed the store, reconciling $8,000+ in daily deposits with zero discrepancies
- Coached associates on add-on selling, raising units per transaction 15%
