Is a Two-Page Resume OK?
A 2 page resume is OK when:
- You have 10+ years of relevant experience
- You're applying for senior, management, or executive roles
- Your field values detail: engineering, IT, healthcare, academia, government
- You have many required certifications or licenses
It's not OK when page two is filler, or when you're a student or early-career candidate. See how long should a resume be.
Two-Page Resume Example Structure
Page one: header, summary, key skills, and your two or three most recent roles with your strongest results.
Page two: earlier roles (with fewer bullets), education, certifications, projects, and other sections.
Recruiters may only skim page one, so it should make your case on its own.
Should You Cut to One Page?
Before committing to two pages, try trimming:
- Jobs older than 10–15 years
- Duties that don't show results
- Repetitive bullets across similar roles
- Long summaries
If it still runs long and everything left is relevant, two pages is the right call.
