Is There a Free Resume App?
Many resume apps are free to download but charge to export, often through a subscription. CVMark is a web app, so there's nothing to download: building and previewing are free, and downloading costs $3.99 once (or $7.99 for 30 days of full access). No subscription.
Other free options include Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Apple Pages on your phone. See how to make a resume on your phone.
How to Make a Resume on iPhone or Android
- Open cvmark.io in Safari or Chrome and tap Build My CV.
- Choose a template.
- Upload your current resume from Files or Google Drive, or fill in each section.
- Use the AI coach to tighten your bullets.
- Check the preview and download your PDF.

Job Resume App Tips for Small Screens
- Write content first in Notes, then paste it into each section.
- Turn your phone sideways for a wider editing area.
- Watch out for autocorrect on job titles and company names.
- Check the PDF, not just the editor view, before you send it.
- Finish on a laptop if you want fine control over layout.
Resume App vs. Desktop Builder
A phone is perfect for quick updates, applying on the go, or getting a first draft done. A larger screen is easier for tailoring a resume to a long job description. CVMark works on both, so you can start on your phone and finish on your computer.
