How to Convert LinkedIn to a Resume

  1. On LinkedIn, open your profile, click More (or Resources), and choose Save to PDF.
  2. In CVMark, click Upload your resume and select the PDF.
  3. Review each imported section and fix anything that came across imperfectly.
  4. Choose a template and rewrite your LinkedIn descriptions as achievement bullets.
  5. Download your resume.

LinkedIn's menu names change from time to time; look for "Save to PDF" on your profile.

LinkedIn Resume Format vs. a Real Resume

LinkedIn's exported PDF works as a quick reference, but it isn't designed to be a resume:

  • It's long and lists everything, not what's relevant
  • It's not tailored to any job
  • The layout isn't built for recruiters or ATS

Use it as your starting point, then trim, tailor, and reformat.
